YES! Peanut Butter side UP!

The bike. Always been fascinated by the bike. Do you remember your first one? I don’t. But what I do remember is the independence I got from my first bike. It meant you could go further faster. You didn’t waste as much time to get there. Walking is just so damn slow. It meant that you didn’t have to get dropped off and picked up by mom or dad. You were on your schedule now, not theirs. Just be home before the streetlights came on.

Great responsibility, great danger and great speeds never before attained came with that bike too. You’d think after all those years of practice that crashing would be a thing of my past…it’s not. In the battle between bike and car, it’s rare that bike wins. I’ve got the scars and stories to prove it.

And wow did it freakin’ suck when it got stolen. What a dumb ass. Leaving it unlocked outside the video arcade where I wasn’t supposed to be anyway! Damn was that a long walk home.

Thanks bike. You’re great. I’m still a kid every time I pedal.

Give me 3 good reasons why…

During October of 2011 I traveled to my hometown to visit family and friends. It’s such a great time to be in the Great Lakes region in the Fall. This October was particularly rainy even by local standards. It did make for challenging photography but nonetheless I charged on and worked with subject and elements to make images happen.

So much fun to see my friends and their children and work with those kids to obtain portraits. Aging from 1 year old to 14 definitely presented its share of trials. Some were completely willing to listen and work with me, while others would rather ride bicycles and play in the leaves.

Not only did I want to capture the people with portraits that would help explain the demographics of this area. But I also wanted to capture a portion of the city through its environment.

Let me know your thoughts, comments, questions and/or concerns.

Enjoy.

WOWWHATHAPPENED!

What happened? No snow is what happened. Not only Colorado, but across the nation ski resorts are struggling with snowfall. I’ve heard this is the 2nd to worst season at Vail in the last 50 years.

As of today, it is only 30% (approx) open, 80″ total and a base of 18″.

Enjoy the images from last season and hope the snow begins to fall so that January through April can produce a great season!

It was like that when we got here.

New blog. Bookmark it…and don’t put it in that TEMP folder that you plan to visit often but rarely find yourself there.

This piece of media represents a portion of what I find on this 4.5 billion year old rock according to how my 48 ounces of gray matter function.

Leave comments, criticism, remarks, anecdotes…but if you’re going to dish it out you better be able to take it. I don’t have time for that nonsense. You picking up what I’m laying down? ;-)

Good. Now that we are on the same page, here is my most recent rockstar. Her name really is Rockstar and she is (obviously) AWESOME!!!
